I am very interested in this article. I am a Civil Tech on medical leave from the Bridge Design Bureau of NMDOT. I sent this to my dept.. I wish I was at work and could send you the pictures from our inspection of the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge from the cherry picker. It would blow your mind. LOL

Pretty cool project, Mr. Baca! If I can make a suggestion, you should also try and visit the uppermost headwaters. I think the geographic source should be a short hike from Stony Pass near Silverton, CO, though you'll probably want four wheels. It'd be nice to see some views of where it hits the sea too!

The Great River

This blog of bridges over the Rio Grande certainly will not be a definitive work. I am just doing it for the fun of it in my retirement. It is my intention to take a picture of every bridge over the Rio Grande from the Head Waters to the Gulf of Mexico.

For better quality views always click on the picture. Also, there will be many links about the history of the area where the bridge spans the Rio Grande. I will eventually put the bridges in the correct order from North to South, but in the meantime I am experimenting. I would greatly appreciate suggestions and sources that might be tapped.
